Gottfried Helnwein - Murmurs of innocents

Artist – Gottfried Helnwein

Gottfried Helnwein was born in Austrian-Irish artist. Over the course of his career he has worked as many things including a painter, draftsman, muralist, sculptor, performance artist and photographer.

He studied at the University of Visual Art in Vienna. His paintings show psychological and social anxieties, historical issues and political topics. Most of his paintings depict a child representing the human condition and the effects of society on children.

His paintings are photorealistic and somewhat haunting. As you view his paintings, you are left with a sense of melancholy and shock at the subject matter. He is both a master painter and excellent at communicating a  feeling or idea.
